Tour: Mae Suai Cave and Doi Chaang Tour
Description: This one day tour takes you deep down into Mae Suai Cave and then up high, to the top of Doi Chaang Mountain. You leave from Chiang Rai and go to Suan Charin Restaurant, home to some of the finest pies in Thailand. After enjoying your slice, we dive deep into Mae Suai Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in the area, full of big caverns and lots of stalagtites and stalagmites. After you have had your fill of caving, we head up to Doi Chaang, or Elephant Mountain. Doi Chaang is home to numerous hill tribe groups as well as some of the best coffee in the world. Doi Chaang Coffee has built a roastery at over 1200 meters to ensure high quality coffee. We sample their coffee and then go to the agricultural research station where we can try locally grown macadamias and tea. We then go over the top of Doi Chaang and descend to a scenic reservoir where you are welcome to take a dip. This tour is possible to do on a scooter for an experienced scooter rider but typically we provide 4WD transport.
