Description: Phu Chi Fah Forest Park is located high in the mountains, on the border of Laos. It is in the Wiang Kan District of Chiang Rai Province. It covers approximately 2,500 rais and was declared a Forest Park in 1998. It is extremely popular with Thai tourists from Bangkok and can be unbelievably crowded in the winter months, especially on weekends.

Phone: 053) 714914

Directions: Phu Chi Fah is approximately 144 kilometers away from Chiang Rai. There are numerous routes but the easiest seems to be to take route 1020 to the south east, past Thoeng. After Thoeng it turns into route 1021. As it is such a famous area, there will be numerous signs to guide you.
Highlights: Phu Chi Fah is the highest mountain in the Doi Pah Mohn mountain range, 1,628 meters high. The mountain is in Thailand on one side and Laos in the other. At the top, there is a very steep cliff which offers fantastic views into Laos and the surrounding mountains. Tourists typically spend the night around Baan Rom Fah Thong, approximately 1.5 kilometers away from the observation point, then walk up to Phu Chi Fah at dawn to enjoy sunrise. In February, white bauhinia flowers can be seen around Phu Chi Fah.
