Raging River Rides
- Northern Thailand is blessed with an abundance of rivers that start high in the mountains and flow into the Mae Kong and Mae Kok rivers. The Mae Kong has lots of traffic on it so although it would be possible to canoe or kayak on it, it is not ideal. Currently, the only boats on the Mae Kok are long tailed boats carrying tourists. The small rivers that start in the mountains and empty into these rivers are ideal for seeing Thailand and getting off the beaten path. Therefore we focus our tours on the MaeKok and the smaller rivers that flow into it. How about kayaking or canoeing through remote valleys? River rafting on a bamboo raft through tribal villages sound appealing? How about biking along the Mae Kok and then tubing back? During the rainy season when the rivers are full, kayaking and canoeing are exciting but much more dangerous. Early winter, after the rainy season, the rivers are still high but running much slower. In the dry season, the rivers drop substantially but still have enough water to offer tubing trips. Below are the tours we currently offer but we are in the process of developing others so keep checking back or join our mailing list to know when a tour is ready to go.
