Tour: Akha Swing Festival
Description: This festival only happens once a year so if you are in Chiang Rai during festival time, you should definitely join. This festival of the Akha is in honor of the women who have been working hard to plant rice over the last two months. There is a giant swing (5 to 7 meters high) where men stand and kick with one foot to get as high as possible. There is also a handmade wooden ferris wheel where the weight of 4 people balances the ride and it is turned by those waiting to ride.
